Week 2 Quilt Along & New Quilt

Here are my blocks for week 2 of the quilt along. I went and picked up four more prints for my quilt. I was afraid I was going to have way too much brown in the quilt. So this week I made all my blocks without the main print fabrics. They turnd out pretty cute. My favorite fabric is the dark turquois in the bottom right block.

Because it's the weekend, my husband is gone, all the laundry and dishes are done, and my baby is napping, I started a new quilt! I am all ready in love with it! The color scheme was centered around Christian. I have never sewn anything for him and he reminds me all the time. :) We love to wrap up in blankets and watch movies together, so this quilt will be for US. I showed him the fabric lines I was interested in and he helped pick out the color scheme. I still have 10 more prints that will be going into the quilt. I am so excited for this one!
Here are some finished blocks.

Once I get all the individual blocks done, you put three blocks together to make one block. Here are two examples. You twist and turn them so they are all going different directions.

Can't wait to get more done on this one. I am definitely accumulating quilt tops. I still don't dare to try quilting them on my own yet.

So cute! The new quilt blocks are fun, and I am loving the "Chris and Ashley Quilt". What a fun pattern and fabulous fabric. Guess this weekend is your last to sew at home all alone? I'm so excited for you to get your husband back.

Tomorrow I am probably going to the quilting expo at the South Town Expo- wish you were here to come check it out.

I'm loving looking at all your creations! You seriously need to post the places you find with all these patterns, or where you find all your fabric patterns. Not that I'd ever get them done but its fun to look.

Well you've done it again! I love love love the fabric you are using for your "Chris and Ashley" quilt. Now if I only had a baby to make something for! There is no way I could do a full-sized one of those :) I'm impressed yet again. And also feeling happy that you get your hubby back, but sad you won't be able to come visit as much :( I'm selfish.

I am in love-love-love with the Chris & Ashley quilt. But I love that fabric line.

The newest quilt blocks are looking good.

And my bright "Gypsy Caravan" quilt top is almost done--I just have the top and bottom final borders to sew on. It is way crazier than I thought it would be, but I still love it! I'll post pics on my blog ASAP so you can see!
