On Christmas Eve we spent the day making treats and hanging out at home. We gave the kids a gift to open that night. They each got new pajamas and a book. Addy was very excited about the books!
We didn't get our tree up until 10 days before Christmas. I really didn't want to get out all of my decorations. It's a lot of work for such a short time. So I decided one day while I was running errands that I would buy all non breakable ornaments. Who knows what Benson will do to my tree next year anyways. Plus I wanted it to be more fun for my kids. So I had Addy help me pick out a few ornaments and I chose the rest. I didn't get enough variety but it works for now. Addy put on almost every single ornament! She was very into the decorating this year. It took everything I had not to move all the ornaments around. I did move the few that were on the very bottom hanging in Benson's reach. But that was it!
Addy is very scared of Santa right now! She had no desire to even walk past him in the mall. She would freak out if she thought we had to see him. Christian was talking to Addy about Santa coming to our house to bring presents and she got really upset. She didn't like the fact that he would be coming in our house while we were sleeping. She wanted to sleep in my bed so she wouldn't be scared.
When it came time to go to bed, Addy left a picture she colored for Santa and a plate with a cookie and some carrots. Chris and I let her sleep in our bed and I told her I would meet Santa at the door.
Christian and I had to wake up Addy at 8:30 am. She was way too sleepy! We told her that Santa came and left her presents. Wrong thing to say! She finally came out because she couldn't wait to see if she got her lady bug pillow pet.
Addy asked for two things this year- a lady bug pillow pet and a scooter. She was very happy to see that Santa brought her both things. Addy went right over to her lady bug and gave it a big hug. She then got right on her scooter. She didn't want to open any of her presents. She just wanted to ride the scooter around the house. We had to beg her to start opening her other gifts.
Christian and I gave her a ballet outfit and a princess Tiana dress. She was so excited! She wouldn't continue opening any other presents until she was in one of her new costumes. She started out in her ballet outfit and danced around. She changed two more times before the morning was over.
Benson wasn't interested in us holding him at all. He just wanted to play on the floor and roll around in all the wrapping paper. Santa brought Benson a puppy pillow pet and the little people airport. He really likes to play with the airplane and car. He was such a happy boy all day!
We ended our evening with our friends coming over for dinner. I made my first Christmas ham! I know it isn't hard but it was fun having a reason to make it. We put our kids to bed and stayed up way too late talking and laughing. I had a great time getting to know Jared and Liz better. They are both so funny!
This is the only picture that turned out of both kids in their Christmas outfits. I really tried but I can't keep Benson's attention for more than 2 seconds! I can't get over how grown up he looks. Addy is an amazing big sister!
We had a fabulous Christmas! I enjoyed having Christian home the entire weekend and loved all the time we spent together as a family.

okay, you seriously look way too good in your christmas morning photo. in fact all of you look great! there is no way i would ever look that put together that early....lol. we loved hanging out with you guys!!! next time we'll try not to keep you guys up so late! :D
Glad you guys had a Merry Christmas! When I called my parents on Christmas they were skyping you guys and I said "Merry Christmas Addy" and she said "I am not Addy, I am princess Tiana!!" She is so cute. Cohen is jealous of their pillow pets!
p.s. I love their Christmas outfits. Addy looks adorable, and I love Benson's handsome boy shirt :)

Cute pictures. Looks like you guys had a nice Christmas. I'm glad you were able to have Liz and Jared over. It's nice that when some of us are alone without family we have friends to get together with :) I love all the pictures.
Man Ashley your pictures are amazing! I feel so sad I didn't get great ones this year of Cailyn's firsts Christmas! SO CUTE! Benson is so big I can't believe it! Love them all!
