The Rest of May 2011

Mother's Day

My family had a get together the night before Mother's Day. My sister was so sweet and helped Addy with a gift and the cutest homemade card ever! It was a really great day spent with my family. It's really hard to be away from them! I really love these pictures of my mom with my kids. Love you mom!

We flew back home to Chicago on Sunday evening. Christian surprised me with a spotless house and a delicious dinner! He gave me a cute cardigan and some jewelry that he picked out all by himself. I am so lucky to have such a thoughtful and caring husband. It was so nice to be home with him again. We sure missed him!

Two weeks after we got home from our vacation to Utah and Hawaii, Addy had another dance recital. Unfortunately she missed 4 weeks of dance practice so she hadn't learned the dance. I had her go anyways. The dance was really cute! She would have loved doing it more if she knew what was going on. She again was really concerned about staying on her letter!

Addy came home from dance and wanted her ears pierced. I thought it was crazy since every time we talk about earrings she would get all stressed out. I had told her when she was ready for earrings and could take care of them, we would get hers pierced. I thought she would be 10 before that happened. Addy would always ask my why every person she saw had earrings in. She was obsessed! She made it clear each time that she did NOT want earrings. I told Chris about our conversation, and he wanted to take her that night to get them pierced. I said "NO!" We talked to Addy all week long about what was going to happen when she pierced her ears. Addy still wanted them done!

On Saturday, May 27 we took Addy to get her ears pierced. She was so excited! She chose out silver sparkle earrings that matched her nail polish. (rhinestone flowers) I couldn't have chose better myself! She started to shiver and shake and her face was pale. I thought it was because she was scared mixed with a little bit of anxiety. Two people pierced her ears at the same time. I held both her hands, and when the earrings where in she was immediately in tears. She cried until the lady handed her a mirror. Addy said, " I look so BEAUTIFUL!" She was so happy! She was nervous for me to even touch her hair, for fear I would hurt her ears.

We went to lunch after and Addy was acting really weird. She wouldn't eat and didn't really talk much. She fell asleep in the car on the ride home. We had a few other places to stop, so Chris kept her in the car with him so she could sleep. At our last stop she had woken up delirious. She kept saying weird things and she was slurring her words. I pushed her in the stroller so she could rest. She said her tummy was hurting, so I got her some sprite to sip on while I finished up. Out of no where, Addy sits straight up and starts puking everywhere. It was so awful! She filled the stroller, my hands, and everything around us. The poor girl was so sick! That night she had a high fever and woke us up at 3:00 a.m. Her body was so hot she looked like she had a sunburn everywhere. Luckily by Sunday afternoon she was feeling much better.

Memorial Day

We spent Memorial Day in downtown Naperville. We had lunch, walked the river walk, played at the park, and threw money in the fountains. The weather was amazing! Addy requested her hair in pigtails so everyone could see her new earrings.

May 2010

We are back from our 4 week vacation to Utah. We really enjoyed our trip. We loved getting to hang out with our families and the friends we were able to see. Thanks to both our parents for letting us stay at their homes. Here are a ton of pictures of some of the things that happened from our trip.

Mother's Day

I celebrated Mother's Day with my cute kids and my family. My mom made a yummy dinner and we visited and played outside.

Benson's Blessing

Christian blessed Benson two days shy of him turning 3 months old. It turned out to be a perfect day celebrated with lots of family and friends. Benson looked so handsome! I am very proud of my husband! He is a fabulous husband, father, and priesthood holder.

After the blessing we had lunch in Dave and Jamie's backyard.
The weather was perfect! Lucky for us because it rained a lot that week.
Thank you to our moms and sisters for all the help and for the delicious food.
Thank you to everyone who took a turn pushing Addy in the swing. She could not get enough! After several hours of swinging I had to make her sit down on a chair because she was sick.

Thank you to everyone that came and supported our family! We love you all!

Tree House

My parents and sisters were all taking work off to go with my kids and I to the Hogle Zoo. My dad was so excited to take Addy. The two of them had been talking about going for a week. Turns out that it rained the entire day! So we improvised and went to the Tree house instead, and then we met my dad after for lunch. Addy had a blast! There were so many fun things that she had never done before. Benson slept the whole afternoon! Later that evening my mom and I took the kids down to Allyson's house to hang out, watch The Biggest Loser, and have a hair party.

Bowling

We celebrated JC's birthday with some bowling and dinner at Chilli's. This was Addy's 2nd time bowling. She had a blast! She could push the ball all by herself. She danced around after each turn she had so proud of herself. She lost interest after a game and a half, so Andrea and JC took her to get tokens and play some games. Addy's favorite part was pushing the buttons and watching the tickets come out. She won so many! We traded the tickets in for two rings for Addy, and some yummy grape taffy for Andrea and I.

Cousins

The kids and I were able to get together with Christians sisters a few times. The kids had so much fun playing together. We went to the park, played at Aimee's house, had homemade pizza with nanny Jamie, and played wild in the backyard. Addy loves her cousins so much!

Memorial Weekend

We celebrated Memorial weekend with a BBQ and two visits to the cemetery. I went with my mom and Andrea out to put flowers on my grandma's grave. This was the first time I had seen her headstone. So pretty! I wasn't feeling good and I slept the rest of the day. I was up sick the whole night and slept half of Monday. I didn't get to eat any of the food my family had ( well except an ice cream sandwich). I did go with everyone to put flowers on my brothers grave. Addy and my mom cut flowers off a bush in the backyard to take. We showed Addy how we decorate their headstone with pine cones each year. My sisters and I have been doing this since we were little girls. My mom made me be in a picture with the family even though I looked like death. She was so sweet to give me her sunglasses to hide as much of my face as possible!

It was so great to see everyone! We miss living by our families so much! We are letting everyone recover for now, but Addy is all ready begging to go back over to her nanny and papa's house. We can't wait to see everyone again!
