Last night I gave Jellybean her first taste of rice cereal. It was so funny! She ate the first 2 bites and was very confused. It was all down hill after that. She would pull the worst faces and her arms stuck out from her sides and she would shake. When I would put the cereal in her mouth she would gag and dry heave! We laughed so hard. Poor little thing!
I want to start giving her the cereal at night because I don't feel like I get her as full anymore just with me feeding her. I am trying to change her schedule at night now that Christians work schedule has changed. I was keeping her up until 11 so she could see him, so her and I are sleeping in everyday until Prices Right is on. (I love it!) There is no reason to keep her up so late now that he gets to be with us by 6. It's been a hard change. I was hoping giving her a little extra something before bed would help hold her over so she would not wake up.
I have no idea how to get her into a new routine. Anyone have some ideas for me?...
This is Jellybean after her awful experience with the mush. So happy to lay and play on the floor.
Alice came up today to help out with Jellybean while I did a hair app. Alice took this picture of her new trick she does. She loves to play with her feet. It is so cute.
Look how cute they are together. I love to hold her while she sleeps. She is so cozy!

Did you get pics of her first feeding? It may take a while to get her "re-set", but I would try moving her naps earlier and wake her up in the morning at like 7:00 I know, never wake a sleeping baby especially at the wake of dawn, but that should slowly retrain her to go to bed earlier. Also don't let her nap close to her new bedtime. Let us know how it works out!!
Oh, and I can't get over how MUCH she looks like you!! She is so cute
!!
Kasi-
We video taped feeding her. It was really fun. I stay up so late at night so early mornings are not my favorite! I have not been up at 7:00 since I was working. But it is woeth a try. I just want her in bed asleep at 9:00 p.m. So I will definitely try that.
She is so cute!! That's a big step introducing new foods, send me some advice when you figure it out. Good luck with the whole routine.
She has to be one of the most perfect babies I've ever seen...I LOVE her! And that cereal video is hilarious! Poor Jellybean, Grandma & Mommy laughing at her shudders and dry heaves!
I have no advice on retraining her with a new schedule (that sounds awful to say "training" about a baby, but frankly, that's what we do, right). Even worse--this weekend we go on Daylight Saving Time (Spring Forward...which I loathe!) so she is going to feel like it is 11 pm when it is actually midnight. Good Luck!
I love that she is grabbing her toes now, and snuggling with that girl is the best!
As far as the sleep schedule is concerned... I don't really have any advice. Sorry :)
Kasi has some good ideas on the schedule switch. Those are the things I would do. Give her a bath and let her be nakey for a while to keep her up before bedtime. That usually worked for me. I would start to be noisey when it is time for her to get up in the morning, okay, not me, but my other kids. Since she is your first, it's gotta be you.
Good luck and keep us posted on if it works.
