Projects

I really loved the blog challenge I did recently. It was a lot of fun! The only thing I purchased was fabric glue for the center of the flowers. I had everything else all ready. Here are some pictures of what I made. Two of them are check book covers and the other three are wallets. I threw in some jewelry for fun as well. Originally that's what I started to make for everyone. I hope everyone liked what I made them!

Here are some of my other projects I have finished lately. The first bag is for my cousin Taran and the second bag is for my aunt Carol. I am bringing these bags with me when I come home this week. I am so excited to give them their bags.

( the red and black bag is reversible)

I made this bag for my sister in law Ashly in January for her birthday. I saw this bag in a quilt shop and wanted to try and make it. It was so fun and easy. If you know how to do a rag quilt you can make this bag. The other bag had a scrappy handle but I decided to just do a solid one. I loved how it turned out with all the fun random fabric.

I made this crayon roll for my niece's 3rd birthday at the end of this month. I thought it was such a cute and easy idea. I am making her a little bag to hold a coloring book and this roll to take to church with her. This would be a fun idea for markers also!

Last but not least this is a quilt I am making right now. I cut and laid out the blocks during the super bowl at Alice's house. I love all the bright colors with the brown. It really is a challenge for me to make a "random" quilt. I do better when I have a specific pattern to follow. I got all this fabric 40% off at my favorite quilt shop. I couldn't resist! I have a thing for fabric! :)

I am coming home on Tuesday! Yahoo!!

I almost forgot

Jellybean turned 16 months old last week and I almost forgot to post her pictures. She is quite the little character! She is so silly and makes me laugh all the time. She loves to be wild and crazy with her dad. She gets so giggly when he tickles her, throws her in the air, and bounces her on the bed. Her new obsession is pointing to everything for you to name it for her. It's the first thing she does when she wakes up. We start the day with pillow, blanket, jammies, bed, mommy, etc. She wants you to name every surface she touches and every little thing she points at. She is really enjoying her books with animals. Her favorite animal is a dog. She says "arf arf" whenever she sees one. It's so cute! Last week there were two days of warm sunshine so we headed to the park. She loved watching all the kids playing and of course the dogs people walked by with. This Summer will be so enjoyable with Jellybean. There are so many new things for her to explore here. I can't wait! We love you so much sweetie!

Climber

Last night I was doing laundry while I was waiting to pick Christian up from the train. I brought the clothes in on the bed to fold and Jellybean was sitting with me playing and watching her show. I walked out of the room for just a sec and I couldn't hear her anymore so I went back into my room. I couldn't see her anywhere from the doorway. She can get down off the bed by herself now so I figured maybe she tried to follow me. I peeked around the corner just to make sure she wasn't still in there, and sure enough there she was on my night stand. She has never climbed on there before. She is so fascinated with whatever we put on there. She shredded the tissues and threw them all over my bed and tossed everything else she could get to on the floor. She tried to pick the radio up but luckily it was too heavy for her. It really scared me! As you can see there really isn't much room on there for her. I hurried right over and took her off the night stand, pushed the bed away , set her back on the bed, and went and threw the tissue pieces away. Within 30 seconds she was right back up there. Even with the gap I made she still climbed back on. So I had to hurry and snap some pictures. I guess she won't be playing on my bed without me right next to her anymore!

The Weekend

Christian was out of town for Valentines Day, so we celebrated on Thursday. We went out for steak and crab legs. Yummy! Unfortunately that night I came down with a cold. It came on so fast! Friday morning Jellybean woke up sick as well. Man was this the worst weekend for Christian to be gone. Jellybean has had a high fever since that morning. I can get it to break but then it comes right back a few hours later. Really there is nothing a Dr. can do for her. But since this is day 5, I am thinking we better go in if she isn't feeling better. Poor little thing! It breaks my heart to see her so sick.

So I decided to make my favorite minestrone soup. At least there would be something fast and easy for me to eat all weekend. I can eat this breakfast, lunch, and dinner! I made a gallon of this yummy soup. I only had to cut up the fresh veggies and add extra beans and stewed tomatoes and I was done. That big glass bowl is only half of my batch. I sectioned out the other half in small portions to freeze. ( I'm sure it will all be gone by next week.)
Thanks Mom for sending me the mixture!

Christian was worried I wasn't going to eat anything this weekend so he made sure he sent me a Valentine pizza on Saturday. It was very yummy, thanks babe!

We had a great Presidents Day! Lucky for us we got to have Christian home with us. We went to lunch and to Target to get a few things. It was great to get out of the house! I didn't leave my house for 3 days. I took Christian and Jellybean home for a nap and I went out shopping. I got some great deals at JoAnn's and found nothing at the mall. But I loved the 2 hours I had to myself. Very rare at my house.

These are some funny pictures of Jellybean. Her favorite thing to do is make a mess! She loves to unload any bag, laundry basket, suit case, my purse and the wipes. The funny thing is one of us was in the room while she made all the messes. Christian had just folded all that laundry and she attacked the piles. Once it was a mess I let her play in the clothes. She loves it all on her head and it kept her very entertained!

I saw this on 2carkids blog and thought it sounded fun!! The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you. This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
2. What I create will be just for you.
3. It'll be done this year (hopefully sooner than later.)
4. You will have no clue what it is going to be.
5. I reserve the right to do something extremely strange. :)
The catch? Oh the catch is that you must re-post this on your blog. The first 5 people to do so and leave a comment telling me you did will win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me!
** Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it!
